Rudez, Croatia Ousted by France
After both teams struggled to score in the first half, scoring only a combined 45 points (23-22), France doubled their output in the third quarter alone to put some distance on the Croatians, 46-34.
France led the rest of the way, but not before the Croatians made a big push down the stretch, closing the gap to two with just under a minute remaining, 66-64. After France missed at the other end, Croatia’s Bogdanovich missed a 3-pointer with :24 remaining that would have given them the lead. Croatia was then forced to foul France, who went on to the win, 69-64.
NBA players Nicolas Batum and Evan Fournier scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, for France while Pacers newcomer, Damjan Rudez, scored three points (1-6 3pts) and grabbed four rebounds in 16 minutes of play.
Luis Scola is now the last remaining Pacers player in the tournament. His Argentinian squad faces Brazil on Sunday at 4 PM ET (10 PM GMT+2).
