After a one-day break for the two Pacers competing in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain, Luis Scola of Argentina and Damjan Rudez of Croatia, were at it again on Wednesday.
Scola delivered his finest performance of the tournament against an outmatched Senegal. The Pacers forward powered his way to 22 points and 14 rebounds, both game-highs by a wide margin. His monster performance secured an easy win for Argentina, as it rolled Senegal by a final score 81-46, moving the Argentines to 3-1 in group play. Argentina has now clinched a berth in the 16-team single-elimination knockout round.
Croatia, on the other hand, suffered a 76-65 loss at the hands of a talented Greek team. In the game, first-year Pacer Damjan Rudez drilled both of his 3-point attempts to finish with six points. The loss dropped the Croatians to 2-2 for the tournament, which puts them on the bubble for advancing to the Round of 16.
Croatia will play Puerto Rico (1-3) tomorrow at 12 PM EST, and Argentina will face Greece (4-0) at 4 PM. Both games can be viewed on ESPN3.
